A lapbook is a fun, hands-on way of consolidating children’s research. This shark lapbook project has 7 templates and can be used for a shark week, marine science lessons or to support units on ocean animals, fish, or habitats.
Choose the foldable components that best suit your learners, and the size of the lapbook they are creating. Some of the activities will require pupils to do some of their own basic research.

These fun foldouts are a memorable way of teaching the planets in our solar system and the phases of the moon. Use as a science centre, for an interactive notebook or to support learning/lessons around space, including World Space Week.
Sequencing the planets
There are 3 similar template options to choose from:
Students colour the template with the planets in order (from nearest to the sun to furthest away). They also colour the 2 halves of the space scene. They then cut out the template and space scene, glue the space scene to the top and bottom of the template, then fold.
The second option is the same, but students will cut out and order the planets before gluing and folding.
For the third option, students match simple facts to each of the planets before cutting and folding.
Phases of the moon
This printable activity has 4 options for you to choose from so that you can best match the needs of your students:

Children can sequence plants and animals for different food chains before cutting out their templates and folding them. The finished results are ideal for an interactive science notebook or whole-class display.

Do you need a ready-to-go presentation for the life cycle of a honey bee? This 25 slide PowerPoint is full of pictures (both real photos and clip art) and facts about a honey bee’s life cycle. It makes an engaging introduction to a lesson on bees or could be used to support learning around life cycles or insects/minibeasts.
The Ppt presentation talks through the 4 stages of the life cycle including egg, larva, pupa, and adult honey bee. It also covers, in simple terms, the names of the 3 types of adult honey bees (the workers, drones, and, queen) and their roles. It ends with some information about the threats to honey bees, and some quiz questions.
A couple of the slides are animated so be sure to use this resource in the ‘present’ screen in PowerPoint.

These fun accordion foldable activities are a lovely addition to interactive science notebooks and support learning around spring, seasonal changes and life cycles. They are a cross between a worksheet and a craft activity!
This resource is a bundle of 4 life cycle template sets - frog, bean, daffodil and chicken.
Each foldout breaks down the life cycle into 4 or 6 parts. There are options to simply colour the template, cut out and fold (and insert into a notebook if required). Alternatively, there is also an option to add a step of ordering the life cycle stages and gluing them onto the template.
Pupils could complete a foldout, then research the animal/plant they have chosen to find out more about the stages of its life cycle (e.g. the length of each stage). Guidance for this is not included.

Celebrate Valentine’s Day with your class by creating foldout cards featuring sweet, personal messages. This Valentine’s activity sees children colour a patterned heart, and write to their Valentine using the prompts on the template. They can then cut everything out, glue, and fold.
